"My entire experience with Statefarm has been disappointing. For context, I had been insured with Statefarm since I got my first car in 2019. I broke down on the side of the highway one night and thought "my policy tells me I have free 24/7 roadside assistance". Needless to say, that is a LIE. This was years ago so I'll spare the details, but it took over 12 hours of fighting on the phone with customer service, staying up all night on the phone in tears because I broke down in a bad area and was afraid my car was going to get stripped for parts, them lying and telling me I was refusing to give coordinates to dispatch when I was directly copy and pasting them off of Google Maps, to get my car towed from off the side of the highway. I was told this was a one-off fluke, and that it was a holiday weekend (not even the night of the holiday, mind you), which is why they couldn't get any tows out. Well... that doesn't make your service 24/7, does it? I didn't end my policy with them over this though, which was my mistake. I knew to never depend on them for their "24/7 roadside service" ever again, so I had no issues until earlier this year, when I received a letter in the mail from the DMV that they didn't have any car insurance on file for me. So, I go to my Statefarm app, which I had set to autopay, only to find that I have a mysterious $25 balance that the app wasn't allowing me to pay. I call in to customer service. I speak with one lady who, respectfully, didn't know what she was doing, transferred me to her supervisor who clearly was not equipped to be taking the call, either. She informed me, finally, that my policy had lapsed due to nonpayment. I explained to her that I have my account set up on autopay, so this couldn't have happened, and even if it did, I asked her why I had received ZERO correspondence from Statefarm informing me of this. I was sat down looking at my email and phone logs, none of which showed any correspondence from Statefarm, when this "supervisor" had the audacity to tell me that I was lying. Finally, she told me that I could have the pleasure of opening a new policy with Statefarm if I call into my branch. What a joke. Trick me once, shame on you. Trick me twice, I'll open a policy at USAA for a rate that was a whopping $60 less per month than what I was paying for LESS coverage at Statefarm!"
